Hamilton History in the Making? Smart Sprinter Bids to Win a Record Ninth Race at Scottish Track on Saturday Night

Record-Breaking Attempt

History could be made at Hamilton Park on Saturday night when Jordan Electrics bids to set a new modern-day record for the most wins at the Scottish track. The eight-year-old sprinter is aiming for his ninth win at Hamilton and will face five rivals in the 5f handicap race at 7:40 PM.

Stellar Performance

Jordan Electrics, a gelded son of Dandy Man, has been in brilliant form for trainer Jim Goldie this season. He has won six of his last eight starts, with his rating soaring from a mark of 71 to 96. Four of these season’s victories have been at Hamilton, where his overall record stands at eight wins from 21 starts. He has also finished second four times and third another four times at this track.

Trainer's Comments

Goldie commented, “He was raised 4lbs for that last win, and I suppose it could have been more, but no one knows just what the ceiling of his improvement might be. He’s also got winning form at the track over this trip and Paul [Mulrennan] knows him well so here’s hoping.”

Key Rivals

Paul Mulrennan, who was on board when Jordan Electrics set the track record over six furlongs last time, will ride again, although the race is a furlong shorter this time. Jordan Electrics currently shares the record for most wins at the track with Diet, Hopes N Dreams, and Economic Crisis.

The Ruth Carr-trained Digital, who won over course and distance last time, poses a significant threat to Jordan Electrics' record bid. The track has acknowledged the potential historic achievement by naming the first race on the card the Jordan Electrics Handicap, scheduled for 6:10 PM.

Spotlight Verdict

Jordan Electrics has had a remarkable transformation this year, becoming a standout performer under Jim Goldie's guidance. With six wins this year, including four at Hamilton, and a 4lb higher rating, he remains a strong contender for another win. The simplicity of his racing style and familiarity with the track make him a formidable competitor.
