Free Horse Racing Tips for Monday from Alex Reed

While Monday may seem quiet after the excitement of the Festival meetings at Goodwood and Galway, there's still plenty of action to enjoy. Naas hosts the Irish EBF Ballyhane Stakes (4.50), and Carlisle stages their annual meeting exclusively for female jockeys. You can watch both cards live on Racing TV, along with a jump meeting at Cork with an impressive 114 runners declared.

4.50 Naas: And So To Bed

  • Tip: And So To Bed (each-way)
  • Analysis: Heavens Gate is the clear favourite in this €300,000 contest, but And So To Bed offers a good each-way bet. This horse won comfortably at Leopardstown last time and was only about three lengths behind Heavens Gate when they first met at The Curragh in late May. And So To Bed was inexperienced that day, but it could be a much closer race this time, despite being at a 2lb disadvantage.

7.55 Carlisle: Alice’s Impact

  • Tip: Alice’s Impact (win)
  • Analysis: Alice’s Impact, who has had just six runs, stands out in this mile handicap. She performed well at Doncaster on her penultimate start and narrowly won over 7f at Beverley last time, despite a challenging run. The slightly longer trip at Carlisle should suit her even better, and with only a 2lb increase in her rating, she is well-positioned to win again.

8.30 Carlisle: Barley

  • Tip: Barley (win)
  • Analysis: Barley, trained by Tim Easterby, is in top form and should perform well in this race. After dropping to a mark of 73, he made a strong comeback with a win over course and distance in late June, followed by a good second place at Carlisle and a close fourth at York. This race looks easier, and with Amie Waugh taking off another 5lb, Barley has a strong chance. Little Empire is a notable competitor but may struggle with a career-high mark.

Enjoy the racing action and best of luck with your bets!
